Subscribe to our newsletterDyson has just brought out a new wet floor cleaner, but (as you can read in my Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene review) I'm not 100% sold on the design. In fact, testing that new model made me appreciate the old version even more. The WashG1 is ultra-nimble, with an effective, full-coverage floorhead design and easy-to-clean water tanks.
The main issue I had with the WashG1 was that I felt it didn't quite offer enough for the price — at $769.99, it's officially one of the most expensive wet floor cleaners on the market. Except it has just plummeted in price: right now, the Dyson WashG1 is $399.99 at Amazon, or direct from Dyson if you prefer.
At under $400 it's a no-brainer. It's a far cry from the bulky, heavy, noisy machine you might be imagining when you picture a wet-and-dry vacuum — it feels light and nimble to move, and because there's no suction involved, it's relatively quiet in operation too. It clears dirt and liquid-solid spills with ease, and comes with a self-wash cycle that keeps the roller fresh.
I suspect the reason for this mega-discount is that Dyson is phasing out the WashG1 to make room for the new model — but as I think I've made clear, I actually prefer the WashG1 to the Clean+Wash Hygiene anyway. Read on for more info on the deal, plus some alternatives from other brands, if you'd like to compare your options. Or for more offers, head to TechRadar's Presidents' Day sales blog.
Save US$370Dyson WashG1: was US$769.99 now US$399.99 at AmazonThis wet floor cleaner has had a massive 48% price-cut for Presidents' Day, taking it to $100 below the previous cheapest-ever price. It looks like Dyson might be phasing it out in favor of a newer version — but I actually prefer this model, anyway. This deal is also available direct from Dyson.
